EVENTS, FAIRS, FESTIVALS & CELEBRATIONS

Beaver County has a number of festivals and special events held throughout the year for all to enjoy! All of the events are family-oriented, so load up the kids, get out and enjoy these wonderful Beaver County historical, cultural and ethnic celebrations. JANUARY

Beaver County Snow Shovel Riding Championship

This one-of-a-kind event for over 50 years.  The event is scheduled to be held on the second Saturday (weather permitting). If there is not sufficient snow on the ground to hold the event that day, it will be postponed to the following Saturday and thereon until it is held.  All ages can participate in regular and modified divisions while attempting to slide down a 160' snow-covered slope in the fastest time.  Trophies will be awarded to all first and second place winners. Spectators welcome.




FEBRUARY

The largest Chili Cook-off in the tri-state area. Restaurants, caterers and individuals compete to see who makes the best rootin’ tootin’ chili. You be the judge! Usually held the third Sunday.

APRIL

Maple Syrup Festival

Historical Village consisting of a one-room schoolhouse, operating blacksmith shop, log cabin, outdoor brick oven, general store, covered bridge with geo-cache. Open the second Saturday of every month April through October.




MAY

Ambridge Nationality Days Festival

A celebration of ethnic pride. Three-day festival offers mouth-watering local foods, lively entertainment, crafts, children's attractions and a parade on Saturday. Usually held the third weekend.

Local historical sites will be interpreting the particular role they had in Beaver County. Many of the sites will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday. Usually held the first weekend.

JUNE

Beaver County BOOM!

PUSH Beaver County organizes a yearly fireworks festival sponsored by regional businesses and private donors across western Pennsylvania on the Saturday before the Fourth of July.  Beaver County BOOM! will be launched at 9:45 p.m. at the confluence of the Beaver and Ohio Rivers for all of Beaver County to enjoy. (Rain date the following Saturday)

Beaver County River Regatta

Hot Summer Nights Car Cruise

Tails on the Trails Petwalk

American Indian Gathering

Beaver Tales – Ghost Stories and More

Held at Irvine Park Gazebo, Beaver. A story-telling event where internationally known storytellers take you on a journey with each tale. Come early to get a good spot. NOVEMBER

Beaver Light-Up Festival

Free children’s photo with Santa at the Gazebo. Horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers and live entertainment.  Stroll along the street and shop in the unique specialty stores that you will only find in beautiful downtown Beaver. Always held the Friday after Thanksgiving.



Beaver Falls Lighted Christmas Parade

Beautiful lighted parade featuring floats, decorated fire trucks, motorcycles and jeeps to kick-off the joyous season. Children can visit Santa after the parade at the Art Center. Always held the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Ohio Valley Lines Model Railroad Holiday Open House

This DCC (Digital Command Control) 400 foot model operating railroad, depicts the late 50’s-60’s era from Ambridge/Pittsburgh local to Wheeling, West Virginia with full scenery, logging area, steel mill, coal and farming operations. The newest addition is our N-Scale railroad. Open every weekend in December.
